What does my signal strength mean? How can I improve my signal strength?

The signal strength that appears in the mobile app (connection bars) is a representation of how efficiently your messages will be sent and received. You may notice that the connection bars are weak (red), medium (yellow), or strong (green).

You DO NOT need to wait to have a strong (green) connection to send messages. You can send messages with a weak signal, it may just take a bit longer to send and receive the message. The hotspot will perform better with higher signal strength.

Since the Global Hotspot relies on satellite connectivity (when wifi and cell are out of reach), the hotpot performs best when you have a clear line of sight to the sky. If your view of the sky is heavily obstructed, your hotspot will experience a low signal strength and it will impact your ability to effectively send messages.
